How to read these docs
The documentation is organized into 22 sections, each covering one area of the app (metering, color, zone system, film stocks, and so on). Within a section, each feature has its own page that explains what it does, when to use it, and where to find it in the app.
Look for the status badge at the top of every feature page:
- Shipped: the feature is in the current build and ready to use.
- Partial: some of the feature is shipping today; the page explains which parts.
- Planned: not yet built. The page describes how it will work when it ships.
Common questions
The meter reading does not match my handheld meter.
Phone cameras are not calibrated like dedicated incident meters out of the box. The calibration section explains how to perform a one-time calibration against a known reference. Most phones land within one third of a stop after that.
I don't see a feature that is documented here.
Check the status badge at the top of the page. If it says "Planned", the feature is documented but not yet built. The roadmap lists everything that is on the way.
The app needs camera permission. Why?
The meter reads light through your phone's rear camera. Without camera permission, the metering pipeline cannot run. The app uses the camera only while the viewfinder is open and does not record video or take photos.
How do I export my shot logs?
Open the Logs tab and tap Export. The app writes a CSV file you can load into Lightroom, Capture One, or any spreadsheet tool. See the logging section for details on the column layout.
Bug reports and feature requests
Email is the fastest path. Include your phone model, Android version, and a description of what you expected versus what happened. Screenshots help.
