High Contrast UI for sunlight
Dark theme is high-contrast but no dedicated sunlight preset.
Summary
The Dark theme provides good contrast in sunlit conditions (dark background, bright text), but there is no dedicated High Contrast preset yet that maximizes visibility specifically for bright outdoor use.

What is shipping now
Noon at the beach, the Dark theme holds up. Deep background against white text clears a 14:1 contrast ratio, well above WCAG AA's 4.5:1 threshold. But Medium-weight strokes thin out when glare hits the screen directly, so legibility depends more on your phone's peak brightness than on the color scheme itself.
Current limitations
There is no preset specifically optimized for bright sun with larger text, bolder weight, or maximum contrast ratios. If you are using a phone with a dim screen in direct sun, you may need to adjust brightness manually.
What is planned
A dedicated Sunlight or High Contrast theme would increase text weight to Bold, darken the background further, and increase icon sizes slightly. This would make outdoor use in glare much easier. The setting would live in Theme picker alongside Classic and Paper.
