Summary

Beyond the bundled CC and ND filter list, you can add custom filters with their own filter factors (in stops). The selected filter's factor is automatically rolled into every metered reading.

How it works

Most filters block some light. The filter's factor (in stops) is the amount you have to add to your exposure to compensate. Yellow #8 is roughly 2/3 stop, orange is 1 1/2 stops, red is 3 stops. ND filters can be anywhere from 1/3 stop to 10 stops or more.

Bundled filters

The app ships with the common B&W contrast filters (Y, O, R, G, B, blue), CC filters for color work (80A, 81 series, 85B, etc.), polarizers, and a range of NDs. Picking one in the filter dropdown automatically applies its factor.

Custom filters

If you have an unusual filter (a 0.6 ND graduated filter, a vintage Wratten gel, a stacked-filter combination) that the bundled list does not cover, define it as a Custom Filter: name, factor in stops, optional color cast info. The app saves it to your profile and treats it like any built-in filter.

How it stacks

If you have multiple filters mounted (a 0.6 ND plus a polarizer), select them as a stack and the app sums their factors. Polarizers are typically 1 1/3 to 2 stops on top of any color filter.

Per-profile

Custom filters are part of the profile snapshot, so you can have a studio profile with no filters and an outdoor profile with your usual yellow + polarizer combo. Switching profiles flips the active filter set.
