Calibration
Adjusting your meter so its readings match a known reference.
Phone cameras are not factory-calibrated to be light meters. Each sensor responds slightly differently. Calibration involves taking a reading of a known scene (typically a grey card under steady light, or another meter you trust) and saving the offset. The app applies that offset to every future reading so you can shoot with confidence.
