Pulldown

Also called: 3:2 pulldown

The process of converting 24 fps film to 30 fps video.

Cinema is shot at 24 frames per second, but North American video is 30 fps. To make 24 fps fit, every other frame is duplicated in a 2:3:2:3 pattern, called 3:2 pulldown. This matters when you shoot motion picture film and intend to transfer to video: the pulldown can affect motion smoothness. The app's cine module accounts for this when calculating effective shutter angles.
