Multi-spot metering
Taking spot readings at several points in the scene and combining them.
Single-spot metering is great when you know which tone is your reference, but tricky scenes have multiple important regions. Multi-spot metering lets you tap to add several spot readings (sky, mid-tone wall, shadow under the bridge, for example) and then biases the final reading toward whichever zones matter most. The Zone System workflow lives here.
